Richter Crane and Heavy Lifting expands fleet with third Liebherr mobile crane
The German heavy lifting specialist Richter Crane and Heavy Lifting has added its third Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 to the company fleet. The investment in the nine-axle mobile crane reflects the persistently high demand for heavy lifting capacities and underscores the growing market concentration among premium crane manufacturers.
High demand drives investments
Company owner Matthias Richter justifies the acquisition with the exceptionally high number of projects: "The number of projects is currently enormous – in all areas. It was clear that we needed additional lifting capacity in this class." The company focuses on infrastructural and industrial major projects as well as the booming wind power sector.
Martin Krusche, head of the crane department, highlights the versatility of the LTM 1750-9.1: "The crane is powerful, quickly assembled and ideal for our spectrum of crane operations – in bridge construction, transformer installations, in industrial plants and for repair and dismantling work in the wind industry."
Technical performance capability decisive
The impressive load capacity of the Excavator results from its characteristic Y-shaped outrigger system. Specially optimized for wind turbines and equipped with luffing jib, the crane reaches lifting heights of up to 156 meters. These specifications make it an indispensable tool for modern earthmoving and assembly work.
Strategic fleet optimization
With three identical LTM 1750-9.1, Richter pursues a well-thought-out fleet strategy. The standardization enables parallel major projects and flexible deployment planning. "When a crane job unexpectedly takes longer, we can react immediately and send an identical machine to the next project," explains Krusche. This creates "enormous planning security – also regarding road transport permits".
Immediate practical deployment
Just one day after handover, the new mobile crane was put into operation. In Selb it lifted several plant components for a ceramics factory, with individual components weighing up to 80 tons. Anton Pätzold, head of the transport department, emphasizes the complete solution from one source: "The individual components were collected from northern Sweden by our in-house transport division with three heavy transport vehicles."
Market dynamics in heavy lifting cranes
The investment by Richter Crane and Heavy Lifting illustrates the current market dynamics in the heavy lifting sector. Premium manufacturers like Liebherr benefit from the increasing demand for powerful Construction Equipment, while smaller suppliers could come under pressure. The focus on proven technology and standardized fleets is becoming the decisive competitive factor in an increasingly demanding market environment.
