The Hire Association Europe (HAE) has introduced the Hire Industry Trusted Supplier Scheme, a certification programme designed to verify supplier standards across the equipment rental and leasing sector. The scheme establishes quality benchmarks for companies supplying to hire and rental operators, addressing a longstanding need for standardised vetting procedures across fragmented supply chains.
The certification framework will enable HAE member companies to streamline supplier selection and reduce due diligence overhead when procuring equipment, parts and services. By centralising quality assurance criteria, the scheme reduces duplication of assessment processes across individual rental operators, each of which previously conducted independent supplier evaluations.
For plant hire and equipment leasing firms, the trusted supplier status signals compliance with established operational and commercial standards. The initiative reflects growing consolidation in the rental sector and the industry's push towards professionalisation. Equipment manufacturers and ancillary service providers can now pursue single certification rather than multiple approvals from individual operators.
