Italian manufacturer Imer is presenting the pre-series version of the 30-meter spider lift IM R 30 DT at the Apex trade fair in June 2026. In parallel, the company is showcasing a revised 23-meter version, the IM R 23 DA Pro. By entering the segment of large articulated telescopic spider lifts, Imer is challenging established manufacturers such as Haulotte, Teupen, and Platform Basket.

The IM R 30 DT is designed as an articulated work platform with crawler undercarriage. Imer has not yet published technical specifications regarding load capacity, reach, or drive concept prior to the trade fair. The pre-series version is intended to demonstrate at Apex that the company masters the technical complexity of spider lifts in this size class. Series production is expected to include modifications based on trade fair feedback.

Imer has so far positioned itself primarily in the field of compact construction equipment and concrete mixing technology. Entry into large-volume spider lifts expands the portfolio toward height access and facade work. The 30-meter class is considered particularly demanding: machines must stabilize high work loads at great heights while remaining compact enough for transport. Established manufacturers such as Haulotte with the Star series or Teupen with the Leo range have dominated this market for years.

The revised IM R 23 DA Pro remains in its established segment. Imer states that it has incorporated improvements in operation and terrain capability. Here too, concrete data on lift height, reach, or basket load capacity are still lacking. The "Pro" designation suggests expanded equipment compared to the base version.

Imer's market entry comes during a phase of increasing demand for compact, all-terrain mobile elevated work platforms for facade renovation, heritage conservation, and difficult-to-access construction sites. Spider lifts with crawler undercarriage enable work without stable ground surfaces and on steeply inclined terrain. However, competition is technologically far advanced: Haulotte, for example, offers a working height of 6 meters and a maximum load capacity of 230 kg with the Star 6.

Whether Imer's IM R 30 DT remains below the established providers in terms of pricing or focuses on technical differentiation will become apparent after market launch. The Apex trade fair serves as a platform to gather feedback from rental companies and operators. Series production is scheduled for the second half of 2026.

The development shows that medium-sized manufacturers from Italy are increasingly pushing into niche markets that have previously been served by few specialists. In parallel, consolidation in the market continues: Multitel Pagliero recently acquired Palazzani, another Italian spider lift manufacturer. Imer remains independent for now and is focusing on organic growth through product line expansion.
