The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has published a guide for the safe handling of batteries in aerial work platforms. For the first time, this provides uniform safety standards for battery operation in the industry. The guidelines primarily affect manufacturers such as Haulotte, Genie and JLG, which are increasingly electrifying their fleets. For operators, this means: new requirements for maintenance, charging and storage of batteries. If you are investing now, you should check whether the machines meet the new standard.
