Volvo Construction Equipment is testing its fully electric wheel loader L120 Electric for the first time in Europe on a tunnel construction project in Munich. The deployment marks an important step towards emission-free work on underground construction sites, where exhaust fumes and noise have been major challenges to date. The L120 Electric is the first electrified model in the 12-ton class of the Swedish manufacturer. The practical test under real tunnel construction conditions is intended to provide information about operating times, charging infrastructure, and operational limits of heavy electric construction machinery.
