The single-axle dumper (also known as a power barrow or motorized wheelbarrow) is a compact transport device for construction sites with limited space. It consists of a tilting hopper mounted over a single drive axle and is operated either by hand-guidance (drawbar) or has a driver's seat. Payload capacities range from 300 kg for hand-guided models to 1,500 kg for ride-on variants.
In landscape gardening, cemetery work, and on confined inner-city construction sites, single-axle dumpers replace wheelbarrow transport and save considerable labor time. Track variants offer best traction on soft ground, while wheel variants are more maneuverable and faster on paved surfaces.
Wacker Neuson (DT series), Scheppach, and Belle are established manufacturers. Electric single-axle dumpers are gaining importance, particularly for work in buildings, tunnels, and on sites with emission restrictions. Operation is intuitive and typically requires no driver's license.
