The slipform paver (also called slip form paver) produces concrete profiles in a continuous process: fresh concrete is fed into a moving form, compacted and smoothed — the machine advances and leaves the finished profile behind. Typical products are curbs, drainage channels, barrier walls (New Jersey barriers), concrete protective walls, and even complete pavement surfaces.

The machine moves on tracks or wheels along a guide wire or GPS reference at speeds of 1–5 m/min. Internal vibrators compact the concrete within the form, and screed plates shape the surface. The form profile (mold) determines the cross-sectional shape and is interchangeable.

Wirtgen (SP series), Gomaco, and Power Curbers are the leading manufacturers. Modern slipform pavers operate with 3D machine control (GPS/total station) and no longer require a physical guide wire — height and direction are automatically regulated.
