JCB wants to set a speed record for hydrogen-powered internal combustion vehicles. The British construction machinery manufacturer is thus betting on H2 combustion engines as an alternative to battery-electric drives. The company has been developing hydrogen combustion engines for construction and agricultural machinery since 2020 and has already deployed several prototypes in field tests. The record attempt serves JCB to demonstrate the performance of its own hydrogen technology.
