The Wirtgen Group has commenced construction of a new development and innovation centre at its headquarters with an official groundbreaking ceremony. The facility will house engineering teams focused on road construction and mineral processing technologies. The investment forms part of the John Deere-owned manufacturer's expansion strategy to consolidate R&D capacity for its product brands including Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm, and Kleemann. The project is expected to create several hundred jobs in the region upon completion.
