Ken Harrop Crane Hire has added a Maeda spider crane to its fleet, marking its first entry into the compact crawler crane segment. According to the British rental company, the move responds to increasing demand for lifting equipment for confined construction sites and interior spaces. Spider cranes, also known as mini crawler cranes, achieve load capacities of up to 3 tons with low transport dimensions and are particularly suitable for glass installation and interior finishing. The Japanese brand Maeda is considered an established provider in the UK market, while European manufacturers such as Jekko (Italy) and URW (Germany) are increasingly gaining market share.
